A daughter's “I am” statements and truths affirm positively a strong belief in self-awareness, self-management, and social-awareness. They help to derive desired outcomes such as confident relationship building and responsible decision-making. And, encourage a daughter to own her choices, wishes, dreams, and goals.
I am Dumia Valley, an 11-year-old daughter (in relation to my parents). In the face of pressure from society, I am a flawed daughter. I am a creative and a critical thinker, and helpful and loving to others.
Also, I am a sister, a granddaughter, and a niece. I am a motivator to my very close-knit family, although life has taken us all in different directions, different households, and different states, we stay connected. I love oiling my mother’s scalp, hanging out with my step-dad, having a strong sibling bond with my big sisters and big brother, helping to take care of my younger brother, and linking with the rest of my family on FaceTime. We share knowledge and learn together.
I am a co-author of the book, Sister Code. My sisters and I collaborated on the book in 2018. I am the author of Flawed Daughter, which will be released in May 2020. I hope the books will be national bestsellers and one of your book club selections.
